The ANTICIPATE consortium members from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) proudly took part in the Airspace World Conference 2025, held from 13–15 May in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa. This premier global event gathered over 300 aviation leaders, policymakers, researchers, and companies from more than 145 countries to explore the future of airspace and air traffic management.

ANTICIPATE's participation centered around the dissemination of its cutting-edge research and technological contributions to airspace modernisation, particularly within the SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) framework. Representing the ANTICIPATE project, UAB delivered a compelling presentation and a dynamic demonstration to showcase a Python-based tool developed as part of the initiative.
The tool visualises regulatory variations and early handover potential across different European airspace clusters, tailored by time and country. This innovation addresses the growing need for smarter, more adaptable air traffic control strategies and supports the project’s vision of feasibility and practical applicability within operational environments.
During the session, attended different key stakeholders, including representatives from SESAR and NTT Data, emphasizing the project’s relevance to several conference themes—particularly "Optimised and Sustainable Skies", "Innovation to Enable Future Skies” and “Pathway to Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)”
Airspace World 2025 offered an invaluable platform to connect with industry leaders, foster collaboration with SESAR contributors, and underline the importance of data-driven tools in shaping the next generation of European airspace.
This participation strengthens ANTICIPATE commitment to driving innovation in aviation research and reinforces its role as a key academic partner in Europe's digital and sustainable air traffic transformation.
