The SIGN-AIR solution will be a web application containing a set of APIs for connecting with third parties, specifically travel companions.

SIGN-AIR will develop and pilot a new platform for orchestrated data sharing in multimodal travel. The platform will provide transport service providers (TSPs) with the means to register, establish data sharing agreements and smart contracts with other TSPs, and manage their contractual relationships. While the SIGN-AIR platform will handle only the contractual aspects and the types of data offered by TSPs, the TSPs themselves will continue managing their own data and that of their customers.

The platform will allow passengers to plan door-to-door multimodal travel via connected travel companions and mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) operators integrated into the SIGN-AIR platform. This represents an evolution compared with today’s environment, which is flight-centric and supports gate-to-gate planning only. The solution combines technical and organisational arrangements, including data sharing agreements, to enable different transport stakeholders to share data effectively.
