EU Parliament Lunch Debate
Unlocking Seamless Multimodality in Europe
Enabling Passenger-Centric Air–Rail Integration through Policy, Data, and Collaboration
SESAR JU's SIGN-AIR, TRAVELWISE and MMX projects are delighted to invite you to a joint policy event at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Sophia Kircher.
At the heart of this event is a shared ambition: to show that collaboration between rail and air transport is not only possible – but essential for building a seamless, sustainable mobility ecosystem. Drawing on real-world pilot projects, legal analysis, and stakeholder engagement, SIGN-AIR and MMX offer fresh insights into how data sharing, smart ticketing, and regulatory coordination can unlock truly integrated transport.
The event will bring together EU policymakers, legal experts, industry leaders, and civil society to:
- Highlight practical solutions and tested approaches from the projects
- Discuss persistent regulatory and data-related barriers (GDPR, MDMS, Data Act)
- Share policy recommendations for enabling multimodal travel across modes and borders
- Reinforce the role of passenger rights in building trust and resilience in transport
Speakers: Delphine Grandsart, European Passenger Federation, Micol Biscotto - Deep Blue (TravelWise project), Ismini Stroumpou, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Sign-Air project), Andrew Cook, University of Westminster (MultiModX project)
