The IRINA project brought together a consortium of EUROCONTROL, SAAB, THALES AVS, THALES SIX, SAFRAN, ENAIRE, CRIDA, INECO, HONEYWELL, DSNA, INDRA, and LFV.

The workshop presented and discussed the latest outcomes of validation exercises for the IRINA solutions, supporting the safe and scalable integration of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) into both controlled and uncontrolled European airspace.

The workshop programme was structured as follows:

  • Day 1 focused on the results of validation exercises related to IRINA Solution 0379 – RPAS insertion into controlled airspace (Classes A to C).
  • Day 2 presented the outcomes of validation exercises associated with IRINA Solution 0380 – RPAS accommodation into airspace Classes D and G.

In addition, the workshop explored key developments in:

  • Detect and Avoid (DAA) technologies
  • Interoperability with ACAS/TCAS systems
  • Operational procedures in both nominal and non‑nominal situations
  • Standardisation and regulatory considerations
  • Insights derived from encounter models and flight activities
