The SESAR Joint Undertaking (SESAR JU) will participate in Connecting Europe Days 2026, taking place from 28 September to 1 October 2026 in Brussels, as well as the dedicated Connecting Europe by Air side event on 29 September.

Europe’s flagship mobility event will bring together policymakers, transport industry leaders, NGOs, academia and the European Commission to discuss the challenges facing Europe’s transport sector, with a particular focus on competitiveness, resilience and global connectivity.
Throughout Connecting Europe Days, SESAR JU and the SESAR Deployment Manager will jointly host an exhibition stand, where visitors can discover how Europe is transforming its air traffic management system — from research and innovation through to deployment. The stand will showcase the latest SESAR achievements and provide an opportunity to meet experts from both organisations.
Connecting Europe by Air
On the morning of Tuesday, 29 September 2026, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, in partnership with Brussels Airport Company, will organise the Connecting Europe by Air side event at the iconic Skyhall at Brussels Airport.
Discussions will focus on the forthcoming EU Aviation and Aeronautics Strategy and how it can support the sector’s competitiveness, decarbonisation, resilience and strategic autonomy.
Apostolos Tzitzikostas, European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, will deliver the opening remarks. The programme will also feature a hot-seat debate with Magda Kopczyńska, Director-General for Mobility and Transport.
Later that day, Connecting Europe Days will be officially opened by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the SQUARE Brussels Convention Centre.
Andreas Boschen to speak on the future of European ATM
On Wednesday, 30 September, Andreas Boschen, Executive Director of the SESAR Joint Undertaking, will participate in the session:
Innovation in European Air Traffic Management: A pathway to strategic autonomy and global leadership
The discussion will explore how Europe's air traffic management ecosystem can continue to drive innovation, strengthen strategic autonomy and reinforce Europe's global leadership in aviation. Andreas will join senior representatives from the European Commission and the aviation sector to discuss the role of research and innovation in delivering the future European ATM system.
We look forward to welcoming participants to the joint SESAR exhibition stand and to the various aviation discussions taking place throughout Connecting Europe Days.
