Building on the results of ATC-TBO, the project aims to validate four trajectory-based operations (TBO) SESAR Solutions for the tactical execution phase of en-route and terminal manoeuvring area flights, supporting the Digital European Sky vision in SESAR Phase D. The project targets improvements in capacity, operational efficiency, safety, environmental performance and cost efficiency.
The SESAR solutions and their technology readiness levels are: solution EFA – electronic flight bag–flight management system air traffic control interactions (TRL 1/2 → TRL 4); solution FLE – airspace user/air traffic control trajectory synchronisation using controller–pilot data link communications (CDPLC) en-route (TRL 4 → TRL 6); solution DLT – airspace user/air traffic control trajectory synchronisation using CDPLC in terminal manoeuvring area (TMA) and extended terminal manoeuvring area (TRL 1/2 → TRL 4); solution HAA – highly automated air traffic control (TRL 2 → TRL 4).
