Triangle architecture consists of an ATM platform in which specialised ADSPs provide services to the same ATSU. In this solution, two ADSPs specialised in the provision of time-based separation (TBS) services will be deployed in the validation platform to support track-related data provision to the same ATSU.

The validation platform will consist of the following components:
a) ENAIRE Flight ADSP, based on the iTEC SkyNex platform, providing “flight” services to the Madrid ATSU.
b) NAV Portugal Flight ADSP, based on the COOPANS platform, providing services to the Lisbon ATSU.
c) NAV Portugal Tracking ADSP, gathering traffic data from several surveillance sources (primary surveillance radar (PSR), secondary surveillance radar (SSR), automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast (ADS-B), etc.) and generating a consolidated air traffic reference.
d) ENAIRE Tracking ADSP, provided by Indra, performing functions similar to those of the NAV Portugal Tracking ADSP.

The integration of these elements will form a double triangle architecture, in which both ATSUs are connected to two different ADSPs providing identical tracking services. The ADSPs will interface with one another to create the required data layer. In this way, ATSUs will rely on specialised ADSPs for the operational services they require.

The solution focuses on scenarios involving the loss of an ATSU’s own tracking services, demonstrating that the ATSU can connect to another tracker as a contingency measure.

The triangle VC platform architecture has previously been validated in the PJ.32-W3-WP3 solution. The objective of this solution is to reach the maturity of an industrialised product.

Certification of the ADSP provider could be required to maintain current safety levels and to ensure interoperability across European countries.
